Will Tran is a documentary and portrait film photographer with a focus on the New York City tattooing scene. Currently a tattoo apprentice in Brooklyn, his images captures the daily moments of his coworkers, fellow neighboring tattoo artists and all the people who come get tattooed. Occasionally his work will dip into NY/NJ landscape and street photography and more recently, the anime convention scene.

Why I shoot film
I shoot film since that’s what I started out and the limitations forces me to focus on the essence of the moment. It taught me the foundations of photography yet the look cannot be replicated. I truly believe film does all the work and I just push buttons.
